Η Νησίδα Η/Υ του Τμήματος Μηχανολόγων Μηχανικών ξεκίνησε να λειτουργεί το 2003 εξοπλισμένη αρχικά με 10 υπολογιστές και έφτασε σήμερα να φιλοξενεί 28 Η/Υ τεχνολογίας Intel® Core™i7, με 8-64 GB RAM, ύστερα από ανανεώσεις του εξοπλισμού με δαπάνες του δημοσίου αλλά και ύστερα από σημαντική δωρεά της εταιρίας BETA-CAE. Κάθε υπολογιστής συνοδεύεται από οθόνη TFT 15″ ή 19″, ενώ υπάρχει εγκατεστημένος προβολέας που χρησιμοποιείται για τις ανάγκες των ακαδημαϊκών μαθημάτων που πραγματοποιούνται.

H Νησίδα Η/Υ χρησιμοποιείται αποκλειστικά για τη διεξαγωγή μαθημάτων, καθώς και για την διεξαγωγή εξειδικευμένων υπολογισμών και εργασιών απο φοιτητές και ομάδες φοιτητών

Η Νησίδα είναι εγκατεστημένη στο ισόγειο του κτιρίου Ε14 (είσοδος επί της 3ης Σεπτ.). Οι υπολογιστές είναι διαθέσιμοι στους φοιτητές εκτός των ωρών μαθημάτων (φαίνονται εδώ), μόνο με ευθύνη και εποπτεία διδάσκοντος – μέλους ΔΕΠ.

ΕΠΙΚΟΙΝΩΝΙΑ

INSTALLED SOFTWARE

PCs of the Computer Centers are equipped with all needed tools and software that are needed by students during their studies. All computers operate in Windows XP SP3 environment, have direct and fast Web access and have CD drive. Computer management server operates in Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 software.

Software is updated requarly in order to fulfil the needs of students and technological evolutions. Specifically, the following are included in the main installed software:

Browsers:
For Internet use (web, ftp and email) Google Chrome, Internet Explorer 8 and Mozilla Firefox 3.6. are installed.

Microsoft Visio 2007:
Designing program for flow charts, organising, programming, charts of building structures, logical charts etc.

SolidWorks 2011:
Software of parametric mechanical design of simple and complex objects featuring the ability of simulating their behavior with the use of finite elements.

Aspen Plus 2006.5:
Software of installations process simulation by simultaneous solution of mass and energy balances and equilibrium equations.

Comsol Multiphysics 4.0a:
Software of process simulation by solution of mass, heat and momentum transfer equations with the use of finite elements.

Fortran Powerstation 4.0:
Fortran programming language evironment.

Matlab 7.0:
Software for mathematical calculations, data analysis, charts, algorithms, simulation and modeling.

MICROSOFT SOFTWARE DISTRIBUTION SERVICE

AUth I.T.C. offers, in cooperation with Microsoft, to members of academical community (students and teaching faculty), via the software distribution program of MSDN Academic Alliance (MSDNAA), the ability of gaining Microsoft full software for free. As a member, the Department can install software in labs, but also faculty and students can install software in their PCs.

SEMINARS
During academical year, according to needs and requirements of students, seminars take place at the Computer Centers, which are attainable by all under-graduate and/or post-graduate School’s student.

CD WRITING
Computer Centers are equipped with CD Writers, which can be used by the School’s students.

PRINTING
Computer Centers are equipped with laser printers, where every student can print assignments, articles etc.( up to 15 pages per time – pages are not provided)

ΝΕW MEMBERS
Students of all academical years can participate in the Computer Center A’ operating team. No special knowledge of computers is needed but spirit for learning and contribution. For more info and showing of interest you can contact on a daily basis:

Use of the Computer Center is allowed only to students of the School of Chemical Engineering.

Students need to write down, in presence of CC person in charge, name, time οf stay, kind of work, PC number.

Only one user is allowed per PC. In certain cases, after concert with the person in charge, presence of second person is allowed.

Any problem is referred directly to the person in charge.

Smoking is prohibited.

Person in charge isn’t obliged to offer help concerning software usage, or to assignment elaboration.

Silence is mandatory. Computer use in a way that disturbs other users, or in a way that offends public decency, is prohibited. Inappropriate behavior is referred, resulting in any consequences.

Foods and drinks are prohibited.
